Spyware Is A Big Problem For Most Users

When one of the largest computer manufacters like Dell starts offering anti-spyware software to it’s customers, then there is a problem. According it the article, 20 percent of the support calls are due to spyware.

For me, I am proactive against spyware. I have upgraded to WinXP SP2, which secures the operating system. I use Firefox, as my browser, to stop drive by browser hijacking and spyware sneaking onto my computer. Lastly I regularly scan my computer with Spybot-Search & Destroy and Lavasoft Ad-Aware, two free tools to detect spyware. Hopefully with a little prevention, you to do not have to deal with spyware.

Change is Good

Having a nice break from work, I get to do things I wanted to do for awhile. This is one of them. Welcome to Javi’s World 2.0.

Many changes have happened:

A few more tweaks here and there to do and everything will be done. Now to figure out what to do with my homepage.

Upgrade Good

Today I had the time to upgrade my computer to XPSP2. I’ve had the CD sitting on my desk for over two weeks now. With a quick backup, just in case, I installed the service pack. Thirty minutes later, the pack was installed. A quick check to WindowsUpdate made sure I am up to date on patches. The main programs I use most often seem unaffected. Although I have not tested all the 40+ programs I have installed on my computer. My only problem is that the Security Center icon is always on the taskbar and my computer feels like it is starting up slower. In all a simpler install that I thought.
