I seems that Yahoo Mail’s storage will grow to 1GB. This looks like a way for Yahoo to keep members once Google opens up Gmail up to the public.
I remember in the beginning of my webmail experience I started with a Hotmail account with 2MB. I abandoned it after a few years after all the spam I got kept locking the account. Then I moved over to Yahoo Mail for more space and POP access. I remembered when Yahoo only gave 4MB for free accounts. Too bad Yahoo discontinued POP access for free acounts. I used to use YPOPs! just try to continue download my mail. Then I created 3 accounts (personal, business, and a spam catchall) to make sure I was able keep my messages.
Then Gmail came with it’s 1GB and it changed everthing. Everyone upped their storage just to try keep up. I was lucky enough to snag an invite from Neil and have been enjoying Gmail every since. I wonder what Google will do now in response to Yahoo’s new decision.
