I was checking out the stats for the site tonight and wondered why my comment form was being hit so much, but no comments. I found out very fast when I checked out the refering sites. I had 67 different spam sites trying to link game or drug sites in my comment fields. I say trying because WordPress caught all of them with the help of WP Hashcash. I read WordPress 1.5 will have even better rules for stopping spam. I can not wait.

WordPress 1.5 has some cute heuristics, that’s all. WP-hashcash is still the way to go 😉
